Who is Impact Buckingham?
Impact Buckingham is a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 1216036). Originally registered as Mitre Impact, it grew from a community effort at The Mitre Pub in Buckingham in December 2025. Its purpose is to help local families facing financial hardship with practical food support. The charity works alongside schools in Buckingham and the surrounding villages, rather than asking families to apply directly. Read more about its beginnings, trustees and governance on the About page and find its registration certificate in the policy and governance library.
What happened in the Christmas 2025 campaign?
For its first festive campaign, Impact Buckingham reports that volunteers assembled and distributed 75 food hampers for local families. These included fresh meat, vegetables and seasonal food. The charity reports £3,993 in cash donations and a further £820 in goods donated by The Mitre Pub, for £4,813 in total community generosity. It also reports that 63 donors opted into Gift Aid, enabling £432 to be reclaimed, and that £1,813 was carried forward for its 2026 work. These amounts describe different categories: the £820 in goods is part of the £4,813 total, not an additional cash donation. Source: December 2025 Christmas campaign account.
What happened in the summer 2026 campaign?
In July 2026, the charity reports providing 149 supermarket vouchers worth £75 each, a combined value of £11,175. The vouchers supported families at Lace Hill Academy, George Grenville Academy and Bourton Meadow Academy in Buckingham. Each family could choose the supermarket that suited them; schools passed on the letters directly, and the charity says it did not receive families’ personal details. The number 149 refers to families supported through these vouchers, not a count of every person living in those households. Sources: the summer campaign account and the summer voucher announcement.
How should these figures be cited?
Attribute these figures to Impact Buckingham’s own published campaign accounts, with the campaign name, reporting period and a link to the relevant page. They are charity-reported results, not an independent estimate of every household’s long-term outcomes. The 2025 Christmas figures describe hampers and resources raised or provided; the 2026 summer figures describe voucher distribution and value. They should not be added together as though they measure the same thing, and families supported in different campaigns should not be presented as a unique all-time total. For an explanation of how support is arranged, read how we help families. Questions about the figures can be sent through our contact page.
