This website is Impact Buckingham’s online home, built on Base44 for the charity and the local people who make its work possible. Our team shares campaign stories, ways to donate and volunteer, news from the community, and the policies that guide our work. It is here for local families, supporters, schools, businesses and anyone who wants to help neighbours in Buckingham and the surrounding villages.
In late 2025, Peter Edwards was running The Mitre in Buckingham when a radio report about families struggling at Christmas struck a nerve. While the pub was planning festive gatherings, neighbours just streets away were worrying about the cost of Christmas dinner.
The idea was simple: put a few hampers together. But as word spread, local businesses offered their support, regulars brought in mince pies and chocolates, and volunteers gave up their evenings to pack and deliver.

Registered in December 2025, originally as Mitre Impact, the charity delivered 75 festive hampers in its first campaign. Today, Impact Buckingham operates independently, with the same local mission and an expanding focus on school holiday support.
Working with local schools means we reach the right families with dignity. School staff identify need through their professional knowledge and Pupil Premium records; we do not hold personal information about the families we support.
Read about our first campaignBorn and raised in Buckingham, Peter attended The Royal Latin and ran The Mitre for nine years. He built the office and administrative side of Edwards Surfacing, the family business in Great Horwood, and now builds software for the trades through EdwardsApps. He brings the same practical, community-first outlook to Impact Buckingham.
A Buckingham-area resident for over 20 years, Beth has a background in project management and accounting. After working as Finance Manager at Bourton Meadow Academy, she joined Campfire Education Trust, which runs six local academies. Her school connections help us understand how best to support families.
A long-standing member of the Buckingham community, Seonad has experience across the private and public sectors and currently works as a probation assistant. She has worked with Peter at The Mitre and Edwards Surfacing for the past ten years and has been instrumental in delivering our festive hamper campaigns.
Part of the Buckingham community since 2015, Ewan is an experienced public servant and a prolific charity fundraiser. A keen adventurer, he has completed many challenges for local charities and good causes, particularly those supporting young people and their families.
Impact Buckingham is governed by local trustees who give their time voluntarily. We have a designated Safeguarding Lead and policies to protect the children and adults our work supports. We are registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, number 1216036.
