What does the charity do?
Impact Buckingham brings together neighbours, local businesses, schools and volunteers to help families when household costs are especially difficult to manage. Its first campaign, at Christmas 2025, provided 75 festive food hampers for local families. The hampers included fresh food and seasonal treats, prepared with help from community supporters and delivered mainly through partner schools. The charity began as Mitre Impact and is now known as Impact Buckingham.
In summer 2026, the charity supported 149 families across three Buckingham schools with £75 supermarket vouchers, a total of £11,175. This gave families a choice of where to shop during the school holidays, when the absence of school meals can put additional pressure on food budgets. Read the Christmas campaign and summer campaign for the figures and stories behind this work.
How is support arranged?
The charity works with local schools, whose staff identify families using their professional knowledge and Pupil Premium records. Families do not need to explain their circumstances to the charity, and the charity says it does not hold the personal details of families receiving support. Schools passed on the summer voucher letters directly. This approach is intended to make help practical and respectful rather than placing another burden on parents or carers.
How can I learn more or help?
Supporters can make a donation, raise funds, offer supplies or volunteer. Public donations are directed towards local family support; the charity says its founders and trustees cover running costs separately. Impact Buckingham is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity number 1216036. Its trustees, governance information and documents are available on the About page and policies page . If you want to ask about a partnership, volunteering or support, use the contact details .
